Another day, another city...

Kate, Hugo and Yolanda share an appt in this cute city and we love it too. From the top Three Potato Four Brooklyn poster, Claudia Person's illustration and our Brownstone pendants and earrings.

'Your garden will soon be buzzing with this great bug house. It is designed primarily to be used by solitary bees such as Mason Bees or Leafcutter Bees, which are non aggressive and excellent for pollinating in the garden, helping to increase fruit yields. The strong roof and solid timber construction also give excellent insulation for over wintering Ladybirds and Lacewings.'

Not only gorgeous to look at but a reminder of the global decline of bee numbers. Sorry to our little friend Bjorn who has been facinated with picking up bees recently and trying to put them in his mouth! Those backyard bees in Coogee might be best relocated to a hotel like this.

We LOVE this children's furniture - the Amsterdam cupboards can be used for clothes or toys and are just the right height for little people. We visited the quirky city a few years ago and designed this necklace inspired by the tall buildings along the canals.

Congratulations to Robyn D - the winner of our SS binoculars necklace (above). A very BIG thank you to everyone who posted in their old mobile phones to the Jane Goodall Institute.

By recycling your old mobile phone you're de-cluttering your home and helping to conserve coltan and preserving the habitat of gorillas in the Democratic Republic of Congo. If you'd like to donate your old phone please download the pre paid paper work here.

OK so you know we love animals and have a soft spot for dogs... Alfie and Duff (below) were regulars in our studio til 2 years ago, now they're busy at home 'helping' Simone with the kids. Kate brings her dog Yolanda into the NY office daily; Yolanda loves to Skype and is very quick on a keyboard.

Here a few of our other favourite pooches (from top left); young Harvey with his mum's childhood toy reading books together, Etsy find - set of 4 hand painted dog side plates by Jimbobart, brilliant pet trailer for your bike, Pillow Pillow Pillow (PPP) dog pillows, our Scooter necklace (design on licence from PPP) - $1 from the sale of each of these pieces is donated to the WWF and finally a red setter illustration from Etsy artist ElleJW in the UK (such lovely dogs!).

It's no secret that we get spoilt with yummy team lunches at Polli. Sherri is the primary cook in our studio but on occasion Rosie will spoil us with some homemade vegetarian sushi! If you want to try it yourself here is what she used recently (though it just change seasonlly)...

Ingredients:
- Nori (seaweed sheets)
- Cooked rice blend (we had brown rice, corn and quinoa), toss with 1 teaspoon of Umeboshi vinegar and 1 teaspoon of Mirin
- Chopped fillings (cut into strips) including carrot, cooked pumpkin, spring onion, mint, mushrooms, avocado, cucumber, tofu / tempeh (cooked til golden brown)

Rolling Equipment:
- Bamboo mat
- Small dish of water
- Chopping board and sharp knife

Steps:
- Lay our nori sheet shinny side down on the bamboo mat (making sure the bamboo are running parallel to you so you can roll the mat away from you)
- add rice blend
- add your choice of fillings
- use the mat to help roll a firm roll
- using your finger and the bowl of water wet the open edge to help create a seal when pressed together
- slice into bite sizes
- dip in your favourite dipping sauce and enjoy!

Thanks Rosie xxx

Looks like our studio manager Anna (top left) was ahead of her time when she sported this outfit back in the 80s. We're in love with Peter Pan collars at Polli and besides Anna we love (clockwise from top right) the new Louis Vuitton Fall collection, or a little more affordable is the ASOS Crochet Trim Collar Blouse, too cute for words Alexa Chung with her Peter Pan poking out from her sweater, our hand woven Doily Collar inspired by Maja's Danish heirlooms, Etsy finds - print by Yardia in the US and a handmade felt collar by Dadaya in Japan.
