We’re smitten with the work of ceramic artist Amy Adams of Perch, who we were lucky enough to visit in her studio last month. Baby Lloyd (Tess is 6 months pregnant) is lucky enough to have this stunning bird light in his/hers bedroom.

We realized that we have posted our coffee spots OS without sharing the local knowledge of our home town, Sydney. This is a tough call there are so many good, no excellent espresso bars in Sydney. Two of the best are Single Origin Roasters (above) and Allpress Espresso. This is where espresso magic is made.

Surface Art is a long time favourite of the Polli team, Moyra creates beautiful prints with a great eye for colour. The team at Surface Art has just opened a studio store in their cool warehouse conversion.

Polli Kimono Tea Light Shade is featured in the July/Aug issue of Inside Out Magazine, in the 100 products under $100. There are lots of cool things, we like the Belle & Boo “Shy” print  and the Memi Designs “Latin Herbal” hotwater bottle cover.

If you find yourself at Venice Beach wondering if there is a good coffee to be had head to Groundwork Coffee Co at 671 Rose Avenue. Then try not to stare at the locals.
